The Eternity: How to Perceive Life at the Eternity Past and Future

What Are You Doing Now for The Eternity Future?

27th December 2021

The Eternity is an article written to help us learn what it means to look at the past, present, and the future in the eyes of eternity, how to see things in the eyes of eternity, why we see things in such a way, and the importance of looking at life as an eternal entity. In this article, you will explore life in a way you might never anticipate.

WHAT IS ETERNITY?

The word eternity means everlasting or unending. It refers to both eternity past and eternity future, but we will focus on looking at our present lives in the eternity future. It means seeing life as an eternal entity, which is why physical death is never the end of life.

Eternity might just be one of the mere beliefs or tales, but we can’t be ignorant about the fact that many people still believe in these things even in the 21st century.

For example, life as another type of energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Humans can’t create or destroy life, and God too seems not to do so, or else, there will be no eternal death in the lake of fire.

If life is eternal, that means it might be part of its Creator, God. If life is eternal, that might mean it existed long ago in the eternity past, and it will continue to exist in the eternity future.

Eternity means something eternal or without an end. It can be eternal in the past, eternal in the future, or both. It can refer to life itself, or creatures that may live forever and ever. But this teaching has been labeled as something religious in the past. It is not religious; it is purely spiritual to live on and on forever and ever.

HOW TO SEE LIFE IN ETERNITY?

How do we see life in eternity, especially at the present moment? We can do this, both naturally, and intentionally. We do it naturally because God has put eternity thoughts in us, humans. I don’t know about animals, but about humans, I am sure we all have the idea of eternity. We don’t learn this in school because all human cultures have it.

Even the very primitive human cultures know that when someone dies, the spirit, or the spiritual part of the person, leaves to another world. This means he or she has just evaporated into thin air, but still living in a different form.

Actually, when people describe someone who just died in the Nuer language, they always say, “Ci yieedɛ jiɛɛn,” which simply means his/her spirit has left. In the Dinka language, they say, “Aci wëi jäl,” and it also means his/her spirit has left. This alone tells us that our people knew long before Christianity and Islam came that people don’t die but sleep as Jesus said in the Bible.

The physical body dies, but the spiritual body never dies. In fact, even the fire of hell can’t kill the spiritual body or there will be no eternal death/separation from God.

We are told that those who will go to hell will be in pain forever, which means they won’t die forever.

Now, apart from natural in-built thoughts of eternity, we can intentionally fix our minds and hearts into eternal life. In fact, life on the planet earth is not even a fraction of life after death. Have you ever thought about this eternal fact?

WHY DO WE SEE LIFE IN ETERNITY?

The reason why we see life in eternity is that God put it in our hearts. I can also say that our human spirits know that they will live forever and ever. And we also do this because someone we trust told us about it. This means there are two different sources of information as narrated above.

Eternal life is part of us and we are part of it. We may try to explain it away for some reason, but that reason is not good enough to change the facts about it. That reason is what we are told by those who wish there is no eternal life, either in heaven or in hell.

These people who teach disbelief are either abnormal or something possesses them to make them think the way they do. But if they are normal humans, then they know deep inside their hearts that what they are saying is only good for brainstorming and classrooms debates, but not in real life. They know that they are simply arguing so that they get more points as you argue with them. This is another way for them to do research instead of asking you to give them answers.

As you continue to argue with them, you are giving them great answers. And this is the reason why we need to think intentionally about eternity. Because we do, we can be able to give correct answers to those who ask us about it more than when we are not being mindful about it.

But the main reasons why we think of eternity are given above; nature and nurture. This means every normal human knows about their eternal status, whether they are Christian or not. They knew this deep in their inner beings. They knew this long before Islam came to Africa. Humans knew this even in the West and East long before any organized religions arose in any part of the world. All this happened because God laid the thought of eternity in humans.

WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF SEEING LIFE IN ETERNITY?

Now, is it important to think about eternal life? To me, yes, it is very important. But whether we intentionally think about it or not, we naturally will have to think about it even without being mindful about it, just because our very nature knows about eternity past and eternity future. This is why it is also important for us to think about it, isn’t it?

Whether we wish there is no eternity, which also means there is no God, or we try to think about it, all are but the same. This is because we are wired to think of eternity. Even though we are trying to change the “Oh, my God!” surprises into “Oh, my gosh!” it doesn’t change the fact that our spirits know about God simply because they are parts of Him. This is because if earthly frustrations can force us to deny God, then they can also force us to deny eternal life because these are connected.

But it doesn’t matter what the pain of this world says, your spirit still cries for help from the source of all things, and that’s why you still say such things even without giving it a thought. There are many things you do automatically without thinking, and eternal impulses are one of those things.

This happens automatically simply because you and I are but spiritual beings. Our world may no longer see this fact, but we do see it deep inside ourselves, and this is a powerful witness. It is the greatest testimony that we are but spiritual beings, longing for that eternity future.
